Basic Job Functions

Camp Coyote's staff is a select group of caring, loving individuals who have a heart for children. Counselors will impact campers through their own personal life and the daily example they set.

Qualifications: The applicant must be 18 years of age or older and have completed at least one semester of college before June 1st of the application year. The only exceptions to this are those applicants who have completed Camp Coyote's Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program.

  • Safety First! The safety of the campers is our # 1 priority!
  • Supervise children in a 24 hour, 7 days a week, rustic environment.
  • Maintain a positive attitude environment for campers.
  • Keep daily written records of assigned campers (cabin book).
  • Actively teach/assist in activities as assigned by director and/or management staff. Must be able to thoroughly follow instructions.
  • Lead by example in personal actions and beliefs. Must have a genuine love for children and the desire to lead by demonstrating a good conscience, pure heart, sincere faith, and Christian beliefs.
  • Must represent self with a strong character and moral values throughout the year in all areas of daily living (such as at school on websites such as mySpace and Facebook).
  • Possess a high level of stamina to carry out Camp Coyote programs and activities over an extended period of time in a hot and humid climate.
  • Must treat others the way you want to be treated. That includes respect for self, and others and their property. Must dress comfortably, but modestly. Must strive to be the best example to the impressionable youth that have been entrusted to your care.
  • Responsible for putting equipment away after activities and keeping inventory of this equipment.
